As our parents age, we can find ourselves in uncharted waters and overwhelmed by the unknown that looms on the horizon. This wonderful interview on Focus on the Family offers great insight for getting our bearings as we chart the course of this journey.

Here’s the intro to the show: “Aging is difficult and caring for our elders is a skill many people are never taught. As the Baby Boomer generation continues to age, this challenge will impact an increasing number of families. Christian families are motivated by God’s love to care for their aging family members – but may unwittingly do harm by not anticipating long-term challenges of caregiving.
Michele Howe shares her experiences of caring for a beloved neighbor where she and her husband were well-meaning but made many mistakes, as well as caring for her father-in-law where they were able to make wiser choices about how to help.
Boundless host Lisa Anderson also joins the conversation to share about her experiences caring for her mother as a single adult. Together, they will help Christian families better prepare for the eventual circumstances where they will have caregiving responsibilities for elderly parents or relatives.”

Our staff is often amazed by the love, care and compassion adult children have for their aging parents during what can be a very diffifult time. To us, THEY are the heroes! And we are honored to serve them.
