Hospice Nurse – Lynchburg

Heather Cook, RN, BSN

Joined: November 2019

My prior work experience was in the NeuroTrauma ICU at Roanoke Memorial and the Medical ICU at Lynchburg General where I was a charge nurse and part of the medical emergency team.

I have always believed that I was meant to work in healthcare and was drawn to hospice because I believe everyone deserves to live their last days here on earth comfortable and with dignity. I strive to be the hands and feet of Christ to patients and families during some of the hardest moments of their lives.

My hope is to bring joy, peace and comfort through the care I provide, even if just by being a listening ear, which so many of us need at times. Gentle Shepherd allows me to live out my faith in my work and that is my favorite thing about being here.

Heather lives in Amherst, VA with her husband, her little boy, Levi, and two dogs, Loki and Luna. She enjoys hiking, spending time with her family and traveling.
